I have had nothing but great experiences with the projects that Hammerhead Construction has done for me on my old Spanish bungalow in East side Santa Barbara. Initially I had them do a general removal of the living area, including the removal of a wall. This required a City building permit and the guys dealt well with the inspector (not always an easy task). Because the house is so old, we didn’t really know what we would find when the walls were opened up. So, the best option was to go with a time and materials contract. This type of contract, with a new contractor can be a real concern. Not here though. Everything was transparent, including the amounts owed to the subs. In fact, the total bill for the project was less than I had anticipated.
Having had this good experience with Hammerhead, last year I had them do a bathroom remodel for me. As with the general remodel, all turned out well, and on time. There were no significant delays. The Subs showed up on time and did fine work.
One last job they did for me was at the end of the bathroom remodel. Wouldn’t you know it but the floor in the other bathroom unexpectedly broke through. (it was 90 years old). I called them and Hammerhead got right on it for me. Brandon was there within a day or two. He took out the old, rotten flooring, installed now floor joists and flooring, all in less than 3 days. Then they got their tile guy to come in and lay new floor tile. It looks great. Significantly, and I kid you not, they did all this for me in less than a week from my call for help. Can’t beat that.

We have worked with many contractors to build or renovate homes. In 2016 we hired Hammerhead Construction for a major renovation of our Santa Barbara home. From the beginning design to job completion, we found Hammerhead Construction to be one of the most honest, knowledgeable and customer focused contractors that we have worked with! They hired excellent subcontractors as needed, and were on the job daily supervising the work. Several times they recommended a design change that would save us money. They then discussed options with us and assisted us in making an informed decision. All costs were clearly disclosed and reasonable.

Hammerhead is much more than an ordinary contractor. Working with Dave and Brandon we were able to design and completely re-build our dream Hacienda Home on the Ocean.
